I have harped on before on how there are different types of stoke. To be honest I am pretty sure there must be a degree on it at some university, someplace or another. These different shades of stoke blend in with one another and certainly show elements of each other. Flat-out adrenalin stoke, thoughtful stoke, party stoke, gnarly stoke and the list goes on. One that I am particularly fond of is Zen stoke. Just as the name suggests it is participating in an activity that you dig at a point where you have reached enlightenment. Things just flow. You aren't consciously thinking of moving your body and you are damn sure not thinking about your taxes, who won the footy, the office, mowing the yard or any of that superfluous clutter. In fact your mind is empty (and that's a good thing). One bloke who seems to do that whenever he surfs is Rob Machado. Check the clip below (watch it full screen and with HD on) and see if you can work out what Rob is thinking. NB. Yes, his board is finless. It is a Alaia, very old school Hawaiian-style.
Weather for the weekend is looking cold in Sun Valley, Idaho; sunny on the Gold Coast, Australia and there is rain in Reykjavik, Iceland. Something for everyone wherever you might find yourself on this big ol' planet.
