Speaking

When I’m not off on expedition, I love speaking to corporate, public and student audiences. I am comfortable with groups of any size or makeup and am able to convey conditions and life on an expedition with a level of enthusiasm and clarity that takes the audience along for the ride.

I love taking people away from the world they know, on a journey to unknown lands – be it the dense jungle of Southern Ethiopia, on the mighty Amazon River or across the globe. More than anything, I love being able to share the insights, strategies and lessons I have learned from these expeditions. By letting the audience draw their own analogies from my adventures to their lives, I believe the gain is greater than blandly telling them the how and why they should.

My approach to keynote speaking echoes that of my expeditions – absolute passion, thorough planning and a
big smile!

When I take the stage, my goal is always the same: to give each audience member a bolstered sense of what is possible. What they can achieve. Simple yet truly effective concepts from the world of exploration and adventure that they can apply at work, and in life, to help make their world, the whole world, a little better place for us all (more productive, more profitable, easier, happier…whatever.)

Topics that my lectures explore include School Curriculum, Excellence, Fear, Risk, Leadership, and Teamwork. I customize all presentations – which requires a brief questionnaire and phone call with meeting planners or senior staff to discuss your organization’s specific challenges, obstacles and goals.
